About me
I am a dedicated middle school science teacher and space enthusiast with over a decade of experience in both formal and informal education. I hold a Master’s in Science Education with a focus on Curriculum Design and Theory, as well as a Bachelor’s in Marine Science, both from the University of New England. My notable achievements include participating in the Teachers in Space Human Flights Zero-G experiment and leading students in building and launching CubeSatellites. I am passionate about hands-on learning and committed to designing innovative, scaffolded science curricula that foster critical thinking and forward-looking problem-solving skills. My deep love for marine biology and space science drives me to continuously seek out new opportunities to enhance my teaching and inspire the next generation of scientists and explorers.
Currently, I teach middle school science at St. John’s Catholic School, where I have developed and implemented a STREAM-focused curriculum that immerses students in real-world applications, including CubeSat competitions, microgravity experiments, and engineering challenges. I strive to create a learning environment where students develop a strong understanding of scientific principles while also recognizing the beauty and order of the natural world as a reflection of their faith. By encouraging curiosity, wonder, and ethical responsibility in scientific exploration, I aim to nurture both intellectual growth and spiritual development.
Beyond the classroom, I serve as the Student Council and Climate Club Advisor, fostering leadership and community involvement. I also chair the Academic Planning Committee for NEASC Accreditation, where I lead efforts in curriculum alignment and academic excellence rooted in Catholic educational values.
